A 28th Birthday present from my sister Hannah :)
This book seems to have cured my reading slump. After taking almost a month to finish the last book I read (Snow Crash), I finished this in a matter of days.
I recently treated myself to a solo trip to London. After looking online at hotels, I settled on Hazlitt's Hotel in Soho. It was the beautiful décor that pulled me in, but also that it had a rather famous guest, J.K Rowling herself had stayed there. This rather sealed the deal. So imagen my surprise when reading this a few days later, Strike is taking Robin to Hazlitt's Hotel to stay the night!
Then I thought what a shame that I had not brought this book with me, what a themed read it would have been, as most of the action takes place in the area, but then I thought maybe it was a good thing as the book is also about a man who gets his kicks out of killing girls who happen to be alone in London.....and I was on a trip, alone in London.
But back to the book, this was fantastic, like the two Strike books before it. I was totally gripped. And it ended on a cliff-hanger, I need to know what happens next and I don't even own the next book! Honestly if you are a big fan of the Harry Potter books or Crime books and are not sure about trying this series, do it because you will not regret it.
