Quite a remarkable story. I'd previously read Rescue in Denmark on this same subject so I was familiar with some of the events and how they played out. Accounts of what happened to specific individuals are always interesting, though: they make history come alive in a way that facts on a page usually don't.
I'll count this as one of my Europe reads for kiwiinengland's 2016 Around the World Reading Challenge.
Claimed from the VBB and headed for Massachusetts via media mail.

I'm so glad you've found this book!
Won't you please make a journal entry to let the book's previous readers know that it's safely in your hands? How did you find it? What did you think of it? What are you going to do with it next?
It's now your book, for you to do with as you please: keep it, pass it to a friend, or maybe even leave it where someone else can find it!
If you've ever wondered where your books go after they leave your hands, join BookCrossing and you may find out: you'll be able to follow the further adventures of your books as new readers make journal entries - sometimes from surprisingly far-flung locations.
(Think of it like Where's George for books...or a little like geocaching - you can follow the book's journey every time someone makes a new entry. Some BookCrossers even leave books *in* geocaches!)

very excited to receive this book. I have been to the museum where much of it was researched: a wonderful museum. I didn't know it was a children's book, but I have found that I really enjoy reading history books written for children as a quicker way to expand my knowledge.
A very well written book that explains one corner of the fight against the Nazis and attempts to protect the Jewish population from the Holocaust. Really inspiring, and it's so striking to see how YOUNG all the resistance fighters were. Also shows the way that decency can be part of a country's view of itself, and will help protect all of its citizens.
Fast moving and good at showing the kids' eye view of the war and the social disruptions that war and occupation caused. An interesting introduction to Denmark and its people, too.
Highly recommended.

Arrived in the mail - thank-you!
I had NO idea about how Denmark responded to the Nazi occupation - this is incredible.
I started this last night & am still reading it, but wanted to start my JE before I finish the book, as I think this one may take some time to digest once I hit the end.
