Although I've enjoyed other books by Jane Smiley, I gave up on this one after 35 pages - - gratuitous sex scenes and characters I didn't like and didn't care about.
This was in a box of books I offered in the RABCK forum, and hyphen8 is the winner. Sending it via media mail.
Happy reading!
