I've recently been enjoying contemporaries by this author, but decided to mooch a historical, as I've enjoyed most of those I've read by this author as well.

I've had this one on my shelf for a number of years, but was waiting to be able to read the first in the series. I was finally able to do so recently. Aside from a few brief appearances of the step-brother and sister-in-law (stars of the previous book), this could be read as a standalone. I was not unhappy to have the backstory though.
If anyone who wants to read this is not familiar with The Tempest, by Shakespeare, stop and read that first. Fortunately I already knew the play well, so was able to follow and keep up with the multitude of references to it. As Miranda - sorry, Eliza points out, The Tempest ends when the characters leave the island, whereas there obviously is a lot that has to happen afterwards, and there's no guarantee that will lead to a happy end. That's not precisely what Eliza says, and I would add that as this is a romance, a guarantee of a satisfying happy end in this case is a foregone conclusion.
I enjoyed this very much, and wonder who will be the "star" of the next book. There seems to be a hint that it could be Blue. Interesting.
