It’s unusual for me to stop reading a book once I've started. Unfortunately, Rogue Lawyer is one of those exceptions. I keep waiting for those layered, flawed, cherished Grisham characters to develop; it didn’t happen. I started reading the book and it became somewhat familiar, like a Michael Connelly novel. It reminded me of the Lincoln lawyer series. Not his best work. Lately, Grisham has been preachy. No one can read a Grisham book any more without knowing his stand on issues. It bothers me as a reader. It insults my intellect. Grisham stereotyped his characters. The police, prosecutor, and judge was rude and didn’t care about truth or life. The defense attorney was misunderstood and stood alone. He kept harping on the death penalty. I had given up on Grisham, but tried this one. I am glad I did not purchase the book, but it was given to me. This time, I am finished with Grisham.

Enjoy
