Newbery Honor Book.

Momo was four years old when she first saw a Lhasa Terrier. After that, her dearest wish was to have one for her very own. When she was nine, her wish finally came true and Pempa was hers. Pempa grew from a tiny puppy to a fine dog; then one day a trader stole him!

Momo is determined to get her dog back, and travels all the way from the mountains of Tibet to the streets of Calcutta on her quest. Will she succeed?

Much of this story takes place in India, but it begins in Tibet, and both Momo and Pempa are Tibetan. Since I can't count Tibet as a separate country for kiwiinengland's 2016 Around the World Reading Challenge, I guess I'll count it for India, since I'm likely to read another book set in China at some point.
