This arrived last week while I was on vacation. I'll get to this as soon as possible!

Journal Entry 5 by roadrunner from Spring, Texas USA on Tuesday, September 7, 2004
I liked this book so much better than A Passion For Books. Funny and totally relevant to anyone who loves books. I've discovered that I am a Bibliophile with a touch of Collectomania. And I live the chapter titled "Getting Them In the House" after EVERY booksale! This book is on its way via Media Mail. Thanks Skcreader for sharing this gem.

Just came today, and just looking at the cover makes me laugh. "Biblioholism: book, of books: the habitual longing to purchase, read, store, admire and consume books in excess." Ain't that the truth!

Journal Entry 7 by Czersk from Roscoe, Minnesota USA on Wednesday, September 22, 2004
Jeez! And I thought I was bad! I wonder what name they would give us Bookcrossers- we're biblioholics in a sense, but instead of hoarding our books, we (or at least I) can't seem to give them away fast enough.

Off to mysterylady36.

Journal Entry 8 by mysterylady36 from Ashland, Missouri USA on Friday, October 1, 2004
Received in the mail today. I have read a little bit of it and already I am hooked. This should be interesting to see how much of myself I find in here!

Journal Entry 9 by mysterylady36 from Ashland, Missouri USA on Wednesday, October 20, 2004
I definitely saw myself in a few different places in this book. Apparently I haven't quite gone over the edge yet, but it is close!

Mailed to mlbish today.

Journal Entry 11 by mlbish from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania USA on Thursday, December 2, 2004
Caught quite some time ago. I'm almost finished with it and will have it moving as soon as I'm done. Thank you skreader and mysterylady!

Journal Entry 12 by mlbish from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania USA on Monday, December 13, 2004
Finished last night. Thanks for sharing this fun book! I really saw myself in some of these chapters. I am not a collector of old or rare books, but I am a biblioholic, I will readily admit. I had to laugh at the cover art. It just reminded me so much of myself. There is a used bookstore that my friend Ryan and I like to visit, and every time we go, he buys anywhere between one and three books, and I buy between ten and twenty!

I think the chapter on reading was my favorite. OF COURSE we read in all those places, whether we're willing to admit it or not! After reading through the list of how you know if you have a problem, I was a little alarmed. Tom Raabe seems to think that if you shelve your books according to the Dewey Decimal system then you may have a problem. Well, I was fully planning on doing that after I finished my move. And I was a little excited about it. No laughing. And don't tell anybody, okay? It will just be a little secret between us bookcrossers!

He also gives good advice on sneaking your books into the house past your eagle-eyed spouse. Take heed, fellow biblioholics!

Hmmm...I was just going through my old journal entries. (I'm a bookcrossing nerd, okay?) And I realize that I didn't make release notes for this one. Just wanted to let everyone know that I posted this just before the Christmas holidays. It should be arriving across the pond soon. Sorry about that, all!

I am so sorry that I have had this book for so long, time ran away with me! But it was a very amusing look at book lovers and I cringed whenever I recognised myself! Thanks for letting me read this book.

It has just been posted off to Daemonwolf because I could not get hold of the next person on the list.

Got it! Thanks.

Journal Entry 20 by libertine101 from Perth City, Western Australia Australia on Saturday, November 19, 2005
Sorry for holding things up. Just finished this one.
A humourous read, though I found the author's us e of obscure words a bit annoying.
I was reading this book thinking 'Nah, this aint me, no way! I'm nto this bad."
And then I remembered that as a child and teen, I always hung out in libraries, read heaps and as an adult, ended up with librarian qualifications and now work in a public library.
Says it all really.

Will pass onto the next person as soon as I get their address.

EDIT: BabyBee asked to be skipped. Now trying to contact roadnottaken.

EDIT: roadnottaken is not responding to my messages so am now trying to contact the last person on the list.

Journal Entry 22 by ely18v from Rotherhithe, Greater London United Kingdom on Sunday, July 2, 2006
Got it in the mail Friday... but I found it Saturday and I am now journaling it on Sunday :). I've already read half of it and I don't have chronic symptoms but the signs are there... I'm still not old enough to become a real biblioholic but I definitely will evolve into one, according to Tom Raabe.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful book!! I just can't believe how far this book has traveled. I don't know what I'm supposed to do with it after I read it. If you know anyone who would like to read it, I would be delighted to send it.
It's a wonderful, enjoyable book and my English teacher also thanks you for it because those words, I think someone called them "obscure", really improved my knowledge of English (although I'm still a little embarassed to use them...:))
The thing is, now I am really intent on becomic a biblioholic:))) and no one can change my mind. I know it is said young people don't read, but I want to prove them wrong!
(...when I start earning:)))
