Set in a small town in Oklahoma in the 1960's. Narrated by a fourteen year old orphan, Ponyboy Curtis, who is a member of the "Greasers." The "Greasers" are a gang of boys from a poor neighbourhood who have all had a rough childhood. Their rival gang, the "Socs" are a group of rich boys that are always looking to start trouble. These two groups have always been in a long standing battle with each other. One night one of their fights got taken way to far when a member of the "Socs" was killed. This shakes up their world and marks the beginning of the unforgetable journey of Ponyboy Curtis and his fellow
