Set in a post-apocalyptic world, society has divided with men and women living separately and meeting up only a few times a year. The men's society is structured like a military camp, while the women study science and literature and art, and only men who renounce the warrior life come back through the gate to women's country to become servitors.
When Stavia falls for the warrior Chernon she is led to break the rules of women's country and eventually to leave altogether, where she finds that the life for women in societies outside her own is very different, and has to learn that her own society too is very different to its outward appearance.

Thank you for this awesome package, 2 books, one a wishlist! I love the pipes! So cool :) Bookcrossing labels are always welcome and I'm looking forward to trying the tea.
Really enjoyed this novel by Sheri S. Tepper. Took me ages to figure out why them being separated made any sense but the twist towards the end explains everything. I think it's pretty smart what they are doing. I liked all the characters, the ones you were supposed to anyways! Would recommend.
