Darkly comic is about right. Rachael Oakes-Ash has written a very honest and often painful to read account of her struggles with eating disorders, which will chime with a lot of women and perhaps a few men too. It's a shame that the "quotes" in the front are mostly from the kinds of glossy women's magazines which encourage body hatred and guilt over eating in the first place, though.

Didn't make it for A month either, so late again. As someone who has never struggled with a psychological eating disorder, I'm not sure what to make of her honest-as-it-can-be-with-unreliable-narrator account. It's almost an internal war between emotion and rationality. Glad she recovered! Bringing to Author-O themed meetup.
