Thanks for sending, and for the lovely postcard as well! Will look forward to reading this.
This book took a while to get going, I found it hard at first to connect with the main character but by about half way through I was really absorbed. I liked the way that the story explored the relationships between parents and children, how parents are only human and have defects of character and make bad decisions but by accepting that then it's possible to move on from that and come to a place of acceptance and love.

This is a very assured piece of work for a debut novel. I was impressed. However I did have to leave off the book part way through as it brought back some memories of my own troubled times when I too lost my mother as a teenager. I'm in my 60s now but you don't forget something like that.
