I picked this up randomly from a charity shop and was very glad I did. This is a beautifully written story about a family which is torn apart by one event and what then goes on to happen to them over the following years. It's set in the USA and West Africa mainly.

Unfortunately this book wasn't for me. I found it very difficult to get into. I also thought it was very slow and hard going. For me it was an effort to finish.

I will be putting this in happyharrybabes book box in hopes she will enjoy it more than me
