For a 100 dollar bet, Tony Hawks agrees to hitchhike around Ireland with a fridge (small, beer sized one). This story shows how the Irish don't take themselves or others too seriously.
I think I was working in Ireland while this person was hitchhiking (definitely when publicity for the book came out). I enjoyed this story, and actually read it while in Ireland (where I had a fridge, but never hitchhiked).
