The book has a price tag from a shop in Germany, dated August 2013. How it came to be in Georgia is unknown.
I picked it up three days ago at the Tbilisi English Book Swap in Kiwi Cafe, where someone had just spilled coffee all over it. It is still rather damp, but at least it smells nice. I'm going to read it once it has dried, and release it again afterwards.

Orhan Pamuk writes beautifully (and credits to the translator as well!). What I also liked was the Istanbul background and insight into life among a particular social class in the 70s and onwards. The story itself was mildly interesting, but very lenghty. For large parts in the middle nothing interesting or new happens, which, half way through,I found so boring that I almost gave up. The book would have been more enjoyable had it only been half as long. I've heard that some of Pamuk's other novels are better, so might give another one a try. He does write very well!
