I acquired this at the Harrogate History Festival, bundled together with the latest Alison Weir novel, Six Tudor Queens - Katherine of Aragon: The True Queen. I don't know that I'd have picked it up otherwise, not having heard of the author or the title, although I do enjoy Medieval Murder Mysteries and the cover notes suggest that this might well be my sort of thing ....

My apologies, Ms Sykes, but I'm afraid I'm abandoning your silly story with its annoying villagers and their obsession with the dog-heads and I really can't get interested in what happens to the young narrator, although I do hope he grows up soon ....

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

Carrying Christmas and New Year Greetings to a BookCrossing friend! I hope you enjoy it more than I did :-)

Well over a million people around the world give their books a unique BookCrossing IDentity number (BCID) before sending them out to find new readers. Since the start of the scheme in April 2001 more than eleven million such books have been put into circulation. This is one of them!

Our hope is that we can track the progress of our books once they've left our hands - and that's possible if finders like you visit the website, key in the BCID and leave a comment, however long or short. It's fun, it doesn't have to cost anything, although the site always appreciates donations towards running costs, and you can remain anonymous if you wish. You don't have to join but if you do you'll be able to number and track your own books!

I really liked this. The conversations between Oswald & his mother were amusing, she's so annoying.
I didn't guess the great secret.
This is going to Chocdrop who has it on her wishlist.

Thank you, ReetPetite, for granting one of my wishes. I saw the author at last years Derby Book Festival discussing writing historical fiction and I am looking forward to reading one of her books.
