The brilliant sequel to The Dragon Keeper. The young dragons and keepers, accompanied by the liveship Tarman, are on a quest to find the ancient city of Kelsingra, or by this point anywhere that they can survive. Those who associate with the dragons are changing, or being changed, and there are tensions and treacheries within the group with dragon parts being saleable to the Chalcedeans for a fortune. Another fantastic fantasy from Hobb, and I particularly like the thread all the way through of the two keepers of the birds who send each other little addenda to the official messages.
