I found this handsomely-illustrated hardcover at the local library's ongoing book sale. It includes the classic "Brer Fox, Brer Rabbit, and the Tar-Baby" story ("Please don't throw me in the briar-patch!"), along with other tales - mostly featuring Brer Rabbit and/or Brer Fox, though Mr. Possum gets a day in the limelight. The illustrations are the high point here, with lovely and often amusing details (check out the expressions of some of the critters in the background).
