My favorite amongst Lorna Landvik's books are those set in our mutual neighborhood of south Minneapolis. But even I can acknowledge that there is life outside this splendid setting. And I always enjoy her quirky, unpredictable characters. In fact, I got so interested in the daughter, Franny, I would have liked to have had a sequel, or at least an epilogue, telling us more about what she does next. That's just like real life isn't it? I like being left with some unanswered questions!
But that's just one person's opinion. Future readers, what do YOU think of this book?

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Shared with fireyfairy during a delightful evening.
I'm excited about this book from my new friend Judy. Sharing it with me was a very thoughtful way to gift me with a taste of the Minneapolis area in literary form! My Mom and I are both interested in reading this one, though I'm not sure who will get to it first. Either way, I will journal it for each of us before it continues its journey. We visit a lake in St. Joseph Michigan a few times a year, as it is our favorite destination for a Mother/Daughter daytrip excursion for a change of scenery, so I'm contemplating a possible lakeside release in this book's future, though steps would be taken to protect it from the elements of water and sand, of course.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
My Mom and I both read this one. I found it particularly interesting because I had just visited the local where the book is set. She, however, thought it was especially sad, as the young female character reminded her a little too much of a beloved niece who is going through some rough things. Thank you for the interesting reading experience! I'm sending it to continue its journey via Firefly's take a book/leave a book shelf. Enjoy!
