My goodreads review:

Quite a nice book, but definitely more chick lit-y and focussed on the heroine's love life than food or China.
Not that that's necessarily a bad thing. I like a good chick lit as much as the next person. Just not exactly what I expected.
I enjoyed reading about Isabelle's move to China and her relationship with her sister. The old Chinese mum and auntie were also amusing in an exasperating way.
The romantic stuff was pretty predictable and it was obvious who she would choose. One of the men being a pop star was a storyline I wished was explored a little more. I'm sure there were many more stories to tell with Jeff!
The descriptions of food were delicious and I have been craving egg custard tarts since I started reading!

Picked up at our Bookcrossing meetup at the Melting Pot in Willetton today. I kept typing in the wrong BCID over and over again without realising it but aaaaah .... (big sigh) I finally realised I was swapping the last two digits and doing the wrong thing. The previous reader who picked up this book when it was initially released (last month) has not put her comments down over here but she told me that she really enjoyed it. I am looking forward to reading it. Thanks for sharing.

Released 5 yrs ago (3/10/2019 UTC) at Kerry Street Pear Tree Cafe in Hamilton Hill, Western Australia Australia

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

I didn't get to this book in the end. Decided that I must bring it back to our next meet up to share as I have so many books to read. It was lovely to catch up with everyone today and loved the cafe too.
Left on the bookshelf at the cafe.
