Registered in memory of my daughter, who was tragically killed on 30 August 2010. This book came from Becky's older sister's bookshelves. Both girls were fascinated by our visit to Chincoteague, where they got to see some of the other horses that this author wrote about.

I found this today while while walking back to work from lunch in Alexandria, VA. The book was found on the bench just as it was stated. At first I walked by read that this was a traveling book and continued you on. After a second thought I went back and picked it up. You see Im a Soldier in the US Army and I'm going home to Seattle, WA to see my parents and thought I could help this book on its trip. Well I better start reading this to my son tonight.

My husband was the one who just picked up this book in Alexandria. When I came home today from work I saw the book on our coffee table and immediately noticed it. I know the author but it took me a moment to place her. Then I realized upon opening to the back page of the book that this author wrote Misty of Chincoteague. I read the series as a girl of about 10 years old. Misty, Sea Star and Stormy Misty's Foal. I remember these book names, I didn't even need to read them from the book sleeve, and it immediately took me back to the days we went to Chincoteague so many years ago. It was an 8 hour drive and we only went a few times but I remember it so clearly. We used to feed the horses and I always tried to convince my parents to get me one at the auction. We went past the Beebe home and I had a Breyer horse of Misty. Actually I'm sure I still do at my parents home. I will think of your Becky as we read this.

Loved this book. Profound and poignant. I thought of your family so often while reading it. I enjoyed the passion for horses and the passion for making a difference. Also good to read about a strong female role model. I am so glad my husband grabbed it in Alexandria to share with our family. We took it with us to his parents home in Washington state and released it at Snoqualimie Falls in the covered bridge on 3/28. We noticed families walking by so thought it was a good place to leave it. We look forward to seeing the book's future travels. Thank you for sharing this book I can see why your Becky loved it.
