Neely Wallace thought she had found the perfect lover. Aidan Tremayne was both angel and devil, as tender and sensitive as he was powerfully erotic. Then she learned the secret that tormented his soul....

Hmm, at first I was midley interested. Enough to keep reading. The book never gets to the "I love this book" stage, but the characters do get slightly more interesting. I have never heard of an author coming up with the idea of a Vampire returning to being a human, and since being a vampire requires the death of the body, it posed a problem for the author. I liked to solution, and the addition of Lisette at the end trying to get back what she had lost was very exciting. I found the two story lines at times wearing but they did mesh very well. The author came up with some very novel ideas, and I like her style.

Very well thought out, but not rivetting stuff. I never felt close to the characters. A commute read, not a home read :D

Book is starting to fall apart, so it needs TLC now.

I agree with woosang. The ideas sounded interesting but they didn't quite make it on the written page. I thought Aidan was an extremely stupid character & couldn't raise enough interest to care whether he lived or died. Neely I thought was a bit of a nothing too, but I did like Maeve, Valerian & Tobias.

An interesting concept and a light, quick read. I enjoyed it, but it really lacked a bit of depth. The story itself had a lot of potential ... needed to rough it up a bit and delve into the Brotherhood, and dig into the beginning of the race etc. Vampires just aren't that, hmmm, tame? And with all the talk of the strong and wicked Liselle I expected a bit more from her - all smoke and no fire with that one ...

Thanks catsalive ... will be passing on soon.
