Our book club just read this book and it was enjoyed by all. The travels of Lily Owens who moves in young innocence are met with genuine helpness of strangers who gradually become important people in shapeing the future of this young girl. There is a section about the Black Madonna that inspired dicussion about idol worship and the need for hope in our group. See what you think . At any rate this is a story with surprising outcomes and characters you may care about.
