Having worked with Huntington clients and their families, this book resonated with me. A great depiction of the nastiest and cruelest diseases and the impact it has on everyone in it's world.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Taking it to the next Bookcrossing meetup - second Saturday of each month at 11 am.
What a fascinating sounding book. Looking forward to the read.Picked up from yesterday's Calgary Bookcrossing meetup.
This book sucked me in. It kept me awake until 3 am until i finished it in one night. (I cheated and listened to the audiobook.) What a horrible disease. Having no knowledge of Huntington's before this book, this was a real eye opener. Thank you for sharing this Nada50!
Will be sent back to the next Calgary bookcrossing meetup and handed off.

My daughter brought this home from the November meetup.
Partly listened to downloadable book but then couldn't wait for more travel time - hard copy to finish. Scary disease and you feel for all the characters - the family who is wondering if they will have the 50% chance, the wife and Joe. Very thought provoking book. Thanks for the read.
Bringing this to the September meet up at Cravings.
Set in Boston and the author gives lots of nuances about living in this city which I found interesting.
Joe, a police officer develops Huntington Disease which causes involuntary movements he doesn’t know is happening, short temperedness, disorganized thinking which causes difficulty in writing up his police reports. After Joe is diagnosed, the 4 children are faced with the dilemma to find out whether or not they are carriers of the genetic mutation and have a 50/50 chance. Ultimately in the end Joe finds a way to demonstrate to his children an honourable way to live with this untreatable and incurable. The book gives lots of facts and information about this neurodegenerative disease which end in death.
What a heartbreaking story! Well worth the read!

just got this book at last meeting
This is the story about a family that has to deal with Huntington's disease and dealing with the fact that is hereditary . I found the book to be very enlightening about the disease and how it can control and effect a family.
Grabbed from book box 2. Her books are always good ro read, but hard. I have friends struggling with this disease.
I am hoping to go to the bookcrossing meetup this weekend. First time since covid. I am clearing out books that I have had and for one reason or another am not choosing.
I am taking this book to our monthly bookcrossers meet up at Cravings - the third Sunday of every month- to pass on to the next reader.
I thought my friend might enjoy reading this as she is a nurse.
