The Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service Volume 13
4 journalers for this copy...
Like most of the other books in this series, this is a set of short stories about the Kurosagi crew. The first involves a group of suicides who all were found wearing a hat from a children's cartoon. The second is about Sasaki serving the Japanese equivalent of jury duty on a murder case. The final tale is a short, creepy one about a fellow committing ritual killings in a park.
I enjoyed this set very much. The mix of different subjects was fun, going from theme park to courtroom to outdoors, and I always enjoy when the stories focus on real-life aspects of Japanese culture, like the second one in this volume. There were plenty of reversals of tropes here, as in many of the series, but I think the funniest was when Sasaki is feeling ill and Makino begins questioning her as to whether she is pregnant, following a common-place set-up, and Sasaki responds by showing her her box of pads, proving that that is definitely not the problem.

Taken from k00kaburra's Manga/graphic novel box with thanks!
I knew nothing about this series, but it was quite interesting. Additionally, 大塚 is a name I should probably learn to write...
The cover art makes much more sense in retrospect.

This came back in my manga and graphic novel book box. I have been watching the journal entries on the coloring book box journal and wondering what will end up back with me. There was quite a lot of variety in the box at the end and I am happy to see many books that I have not read before.
This is a series I have been reading all out of order, and this is very much past the books I have read. However, I really enjoyed the stories in this volume. This one was nice in that the tones for all of the stories were different. But, I think the second and third ones were the ones I enjoyed most.
Thanks for putting this into my book box hyphen8, it reminds me that I need to see what other volumes my local library has.
