I found the book at the Pioneer Women's Memorial Garden at Writers' Week just after Neal Stephenson's second appearance on the 4th. I'm going to release it in Canberra in a couple of weeks. I liked this book a lot but not as much as Cryptonomicon.

Got it from friend in Adelaide! Plans to release it into the wilds of rural Japan (actually into a friendly community of English speakers here). Once released, this book can potentially trek across Japan with the possibility of more international travels.

brief review - in my opinion, the book is a little hard to get into. neal's style is very unique, and at times, difficult to visualize. it's kind of rad tech stuff though -- so rad stuff makes it all worth while... ka na?
