The author travels to China to help a friend adopt a baby girl. She ends up adopting the child herself when her friend backs out.
This book has been donated to the nonfiction vbb. I have almost finished reading this interesting book.
I found the author's heartfelt account of the emotional journey to China interesting. The author accompanied a friend to China to provide emotional support as her friend adopted a little girl, but things went horribly wrong in China as the author's friend experienced a mental breakdown and declared herself unwilling to carry out the adoption. Things got complicated. The author does end up adopting the girl by the end of the book. Interspersed throughout the book are dreams that the author had while in China. Personally, I could not relate to these dreams. The author came to the conclusion by the end of the book that she had lived in China in a previous life. As a Christian, I do not believe in reincarnation so I can't explain these dreams. Some things are just not explainable, but I do appreciate the author's story of adoption.
This book has been removed from the nonfiction vbb and made available.
