I have to say I liked Wicked so far as the best Gregory Maguire book but this one was a decent read. Still worthwhile if you don't compare the two.

This was an interesting novel...the story of Cinderella and her ugly stepsisters, told from a new and different perspective.
Not as well-written or interesting as the author's first novel, Wicked, but certainly worth reading!

I couldn't get into Maguire's Wicked Witch book, but I hope to fare better with this one, since I love the Cinderella story a whole lot more.

what can I say, I don't know how to say no.

Loved the premise - the stepsister's version of Cinderella - but felt Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister failed to deliver. There were too many unanswered questions and several things went unresolved and never explained. I hesitate to reveal what questions etc. since this will be sent on to another person and I don't want to spoil the book for her.
