I'm glad I read this book before the winter came here. It might have been too ghostly to read during the long, dark hours of mid-winter... Even though I live below the Arctic Circle, there isn't much day-light hours in winters. So I know the darkness well, too.

It was a good read. Can't imagine living in a place where it's constantely dark for such a long period.

Reserved for nefertari, for the INTL WishList RABCK.
I'd like to read it first.

Currently reading it. :)
Well, an undoubtedly eerie read, quite scary due to the Winter Arctic setting and loneliness of the main character.
I thoroughly enjoyed it, the diary format works very well in order to know the innermost thoughts of Jack, his initial enthusiasm, his fascination with his adventure-companion Gus (to what he will ultimately put a name), his changing attitude towards the dogs from an initial reluctance to source of companionship...
I skipped some paragraphs depicting graphic cruelty, I'd rather not read these because they tend to stay with me afterwards, and anyway I have a good imagination...
Thanks for introducing me to this writer, sedna5213; this is a most unusual novel, photos included and all...
It will soon continue travelling to its next reader.
