I was expecting more from this book than it actually delivered. It started off somewhat okay and then nothing happened, literally nothing happened, until almost the ending when something did happen and then nothing again. I thought horror was supposed to elicit negative emotional feelings in you and to play on your fears. The only thing this book would elicit is sleep.

The ideas in this are very interesting and I particularly liked the angle of an artist obsessed with the grotesque breaking down barriers between worlds and infecting others by association. But the author is either a really bad writer (with an even worse editor) or he simply cannot write to save his life. His sentences are repetitive, over-written, and most of all, just plain boring to read.
