from amazon.com:
Ed Kennedy is an underage cabdriver without much of a future. He's pathetic at playing cards, hopelessly in love with his best friend, Audrey, and utterly devoted to his coffee-drinking dog, the Doorman. His life is one of peaceful routine and incompetence until he inadvertently stops a bank robbery.

That's when the first ace arrives in the mail. That's when Ed becomes the messenger. Chosen to care, he makes his way through town helping and hurting (when necessary) until only one question remains: Who's behind Ed's mission?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kind of quirky and fun - I liked Ed and how he became obsessed with his "missions".
When I read the first few pages, I was like, huh? This is the author who wrote Book Thief? The language is so retarded. But once I get used to the teenage speak and Aussie slang, I enjoy how beautiful and riveting the book is.
A teenager Ed gets notes that leads him to strangers, and he has to figure out how to deliver a message to them: a positive thing that will make their lives better. In some way it reminds me of the movie Amélie, with the same whimsical heart-warming touch. With each message delivered Ed finds himself changed by the experience. The book is targeted to young adults, and towards the end of the book, the message is delivered loud and clear, though the reader is unlikely to find it preachy at all.
It's the type of book that will leave imprint on the reader's heart.
