I'd had Iris Murdoch on my to-read list for a long time and I found this at a used book sale. I liked it well enough and, on reading more about Murdoch, I learned this was her last book, and probably the least well done as she was beginning to suffer from Alzheimer's. But even so - I liked it enough that Iris Murdoch at her worst was still pretty good - so I'll give others a try.
