From the Publisher's description -
"Eldon asks his son to take him into the mountains, so he may be buried in the traditional Ojibway manner.
What ensues is a journey through the rugged and beautiful backcountry, and a journey into the past, as the two men push forward to Eldon’s end. "

Great read. Thoughtful, poetical language. Sometimes young and old get second chances, learn lessons.
Book is here! Thank you so much, looks like a good read.
This book is even better than I expected. Sixteen-year-old Franklin Starlight is called to accompany his dying father to the mountains. The boy recalls the few times he meets with his father, which almost always end disastrously, despite his father's good intent.
It is a story gracefully, sympathetically told, the few characters and the wilderness all come to life under the author's pen, vivid and unforgettable, even minor character like the woman in the hut.
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful read, will add this book to the Indigenous Bookbox that's with me now.
