This classic novel is probably one of the main models for contemporary romances, except that it is well written, has an individual style, somehow manages to be a strong advocate for women's equality while using a very modest way of expressing herself, gives a very interesting look into the British society of around 1840, and at the same time is visionary in the relaxed, open way that people interact. In short this book is a timeless classic.
I left this book at the Findhorn (http://www.findhorn.org) library in the Family room at Cluny hill, in exchange for A clockwork orange by Anthony Burgess, so strictly speaking it is not in the wild, but you could go there to exchange it for another book.
