Picked up around March/April 2015 at a BCie meetup.
At first, when I saw that this was an American edition by what looked like an American author ("winner of the Edgar award for best first novel by an American author", it said on the back), I was sceptical that an American author could write convincingly about a story set in Ireland.
However, it turned out that the author had lived for some time in Ireland, and the setting was very convincing in terms of geography, culture and history.
The book comprised two related stories wound together, and really engages the reader, to the extent that one really feels for the characters and hopes for them to take a certain course or that good things happen to them. The book is very very good and I hope to read more by the same author.

Interesting to read a police thriller that's not set in the USA or London. Well written and with very good descriptions.

If you aren't familiar with Bookcrossing, take a few minutes to check out this very cool site. Bookcrossers LOVE books, and more than anything, they love to read books and then set them free for other people to find and enjoy. We would love it, if you would leave a journal entry -- you can say where you found the book or how you liked it when you read it.
