Two readers from the UK group were interested in this book so it's off on a "mini-ray";

Kleptokitty (UK)
Tiggsybabes (UK)

I have really enjoyed the previous Barbara Erskine books that I've read, so am really looking forward to this one. I'm somewhat daunted by the size of it however!

Sorry for barging into this "mini-ray" - the book went into my bag by mistake when I was choosing some books from Kleptokitty's bookshelf (her real one, not the virtual one...) last Thursday. I'll be sending it back to her tomorrow but thought I might as well give it a quick read while I had it.
Was totally thrown by it - just couldn't stop reading...nearly 800 pages over the weekend! I think I was very much taken by the dual character of Clare/Isobel, and as I like both medieval and fantasy literature was heaving a field day with this book! Highly recommended reading!!! coolboxuk

Received back from Petra today. I'm really embarrassed I've hogged this so long, I'd forgotton that it had to go to Tiggsybabes after. It's next on my list!

I shouldn't have been put off my the thickness of this, as in the end I read it in a couple of days.

As always with Barbara Erskine books I got completely involved, and had to explain away the tears!

My only complaint with this book was the number of characters involved, particularly Clare's family. perhaps I was easily confused when I first picked this up, but it took my a while to get them all sorted in my head before I could get on and enjoy the story.

It's been a few months since I read a Barbara Erskine book, and now I'm itching to start the couple of others I have stacked up in the TBR pile.

Thankyou for sharing Marian.

Oh gosh, a rayed book. If there's no rush, I'll read it next year as I'm stressed by new baby & Christmas & going away for New Year & moving into a new house next month!

I do love Barbara Erskine, so look forward to savouring this.
