SOMETHING HAS GONE WRONG WITH MY DYING.

Until the day of the attack, Sally and her teenage daughter Gigi lived a charmed bohemian life in the African bush. Now Sally is dead and Gigi has been sent to live with her aunt and uncle in the suburbs.

But Gigi's arrival stirs up secrets that were buried long ago. And Sally, lingering in the shadows, is powerless to stop them...

I happened to find this very interesting book at Heathrow, lucky me!
It is always nice to read stories from foreign countries, this time from South Africa. This reminds me of Lovely Bones in one respect: the protagonist is dead because she was murdered, but still staying near people important for her. I think this is the only similarity.

This book counts for South Africa in my A Book From Every Country Challenge.

Brought this home from the meet as it came highly recommended.

That was an interesting read. I rather enjoy reading books that are set in some 'exotic place', in this case South Africa. A thoroughly enjoyable book, very well written and poor Gigi's story is captivating. I am not big on ghosts and seers but I can let that slip in a good story like this. Definitely worth reading!

I didn't enjoy this so much. But it was nice to read a book set in South Africa. Sisters, cousins, mother and daughter, neighbours. This was a book about relationships. The most touching scenes for me were about Liam, Monkey and Adele. Especially the one where Sally tells the truth. I need to buy more rooibos.
