On the way to Austria for the wishlist tag game! :)
Thanks for the tag, Tizzalicious! The book arrived safe and sound. TBR!
Read this in London, while on holiday. It turned out to be a tremendously enjoyable book. I might even like it better than A Severed Head (although not quite as much as my all-time favourite, Under the Net). The first half intensified the feeling of actually being on holiday, with its landscapes reminiscent of Enid Blyton books and all the entanglements and conjecture and gossipy bits. And then I just couldn't put the book down because of the sheer suspense of what happens closer to the ending. I think the ending itself was a bit ridiculous, but deliberately so (what with Mingo & Montrose and the twins), but all in all still fun in all its ridiculousness. Quite Shakespearean, in a way.
Edit: In December, after much deliberation, this slipped into my **** Permanent Collection ****. Friends can borrow it any time, though.
