Anna Karenina (Modern Library Classics)

I've seen several versions of the movie, Anna Karenina, but had not, to my recollection, read the book by Tolstoy. It was interesting, but there was too much religion in it, too much about the business of agriculture in Russia in the 19th century, and the character Anna herself grew tiresome. Another annoying part was the use of more than one name for a character. I think this was a typical Russian style, but it made keeping the many characters straight difficult.
