Good old Maeve Binchy, for when you're in the mood...
I "found" The Glass Lake at my friend's house, and she told me she intended to register it with Book Crossing and release it. So we agreed I could read it first and then release it. I heartily enjoyed this novel, as I have all the Maeve Binchy novels I've picked up. They are cozy and engaging, like slipping into your most comfortable sweats and curling up with a cup of tea. The characters are real and likable, and the story, if somewhat predictable, is always interesting. It's like reading about people you really know. Binchy is a great storyteller; she really evokes the atmosphere of the time and place she is writing about. I recommend this book when you need a truly enjoyable read, no great challenges, but a book you won't want to put down.
