Lisa Maria's Guide for the Perplexed
2 journalers for this copy...
For Lisa Maria, the decision to become a maid was simple: she was tired of nine-to-five jobs and sick of falling for men she worked with. Performing manual labour for women seemed comparatively interesting and emotionally safe. She saw herself strolling into the lives of grateful strangers and making them over - making them beautiful and efficient - while turning in a tidy profit.
Chewed up and spat out by the world once again, Lisa Maria has retreated to her childhood bedroom to re-group. Then, after clashing with her mother, hiding from her ex-boyfriend, and mall walking with her sister, she finds work as a "household assistant" (aka maid). Sometimes the line between who's the boss is hilariously blurred and even though her own life is a disaster, she finds herself writing an advice column for the local alternative paper.
Lisa Maria's Guide for the Perplexed is a sharp, funny, beguiling and ultimately enlightening tale of one woman's quest to figure out her future by diving head first into her past.
