This is my first introduction to the Mick Murphy series - liked the main character and the travels he goes on to solve the mystery. Not sure if I'd invest in the whole series though.

Mick Murphy, aided by ex-drug smuggler friend Pauly, and Murphy's black-bag friend Norm, begin a search for Murphy's Irish cousin Cecil Fahey. The quest takes them from Key West to Los Angles, Franklin Lakes and Cranford, NJ and Dublin Ireland. Along the way Murphy has to deal with kidnapping by SAS agents, who are also seeking Cecil, IRA gunmen, trying to protect Cecil and Cuban/Mexican gangbangers. It seems everyone wants either Cecil or Murphy dead and he has to find out why before leading the others to his cousin.
This book was an interesting read. Found out lots about Irish history and the politics there plus the way that people can be followed because of what they have written.

Before US and North Korea and before Iran and Iraq; there was a battle taking place between England and Ireland. People would tell stories of how dirty London, England was because everyone threw their garbage onto the streets instead of using the garbage bins available. But what those of us didn't realize is that the Irish Republic Army would place bombs in those garbage cans which of course would explode when people placed their garbage in them.

This book is based on those times where the IRA and MI6 and SAS were all involved in searching for a certain individual named Cecil and began following Mick to gain access to him.

The story has some twists and turns for sure.
