Summary from Goodreads:
A young man suffering from Tourette's Syndrome desperately searches for steady work before his ex-wife can claim custody of their son. He accepts a job offer from his eccentric aunt to repair her old Hudson Valley mansion, and takes his girlfriend along to help. Sifting through the rubble, he discovers that the house has been vandalized by an almost superhuman rage. And when dead teenagers are found in the area, the violent path leads directly to the mansion's door.
To end the horror, he must confront his family's past, and the dark side of his own soul.

Unputdownable and highly recommended!

Happy Reading!
Received in the Crime Scene / Mystery box.
I'm claiming this from the Crime Scene/Mystery bookbox (bookbox journal with list of choices and replacements here). Described as "a neurological thriller", it sounds fascinating - and its Hudson Valley setting rang some bells for me too, as I have family there and have been to the area often.
Later: I will say that the jacket-blurb typography made me wince; someone thought it was a good idea to use bold, larger-font styles for keywords throughout the jacke-blurb, as in "hasn't seen his eccentric wealthy aunt in years", and for me it's tacky and distracting. Good thing they didn't do that in the actual text {wry grin}.
The opening chapter features wildly disturbing scenes mixed with unsettling beauty, quite evocative. The story proper blends elements of suspense with troublesome family history, and the neuro-atypical protagonist has his work cut out for him. The tie-in to Norse mythology with a possible genetic basis actually worked for me, though in this book it's taken to terrifying extremes...
The escalating body-count culminates in an intense, over-the-top final battle, one that was touch and go for a while. And the wrap-up was satisfying, even though it left a few loose ends. Good story!
