From the back cover:
"A pack of wolves makes a sudden, savage return to the Rocky Mountain ranching town of Hope, Montana, where a century earlier they were slaughtered by the thousands. Biologist Helen Ross has come to Hope from the East, fleeing a life in shambles, determined to save the wolves from those who seek to destroy them. But an ancient hatred awaits her in Hope, a hatred that will tear a family and ultimately the community apart. And soon Helen is at the center of the storm, by loving the wrong man, by defying the wrong man... by daring to lead a town out of the violent darkness of its past."
Who is the bigger monster, man or beast? You'll find yourself asking this question as you read The Loop. I enjoyed this book a great deal, although it took me quite a few pages to really get into it. In particular, I liked the romance, which was truly touching at times. However, the conclusion comes off as a bit contrived, sort of like the ending of a mediocre movie. I was glad that the wolves were portrayed very fairly, not turned into cuddly little misunderstood creatures; it made it easier to see both sides of the central dilemma instead of just looking at it as a typical "good guys/bad guys" scenario. Overall, an enjoyable read that was a bit off the beaten track for me.

This book is currently available for sale in my booth at the Traderbaker's Flea Market in La Grange. If it doesn't find a new home, I'll release it eventually!
