Picked this up from the Helsinki airport book swap lounge on my way to Vienna ✈. I'm going to Oxford BC-Convention in a few months time, so Oxford theme is popular at the mo and Morse is always a good choice.
Had no time to read this in Vienna with all activity (Mary Poppins musical, opera, Spanish riding school, museums, libraries and what not), but Oxford convention is just over a month away and these books need to be read, pronto.
I've seen this on telly, but have no recollection of the murderer. But I can hear John Thaw when reading this.

This is my first Morse and I'm enjoying it. I toasted to Mr Dexter when he wondered if all modern architects are mad. They are, and probably blind, too.
Today I got to know that Yorkshire-lass will be my NSS-buddy at the Convention. Her wishlist sounds scary and although I doubt there will be any vampires in this book, I think this will go into her packet because of the Oxford and mystery theme. Sorry, I released a vampire story in Vienna a few weeks ago!

Found a mistake: When Morse was doing the crossword the clue was: "In which are the islets of Langerhans? " (8) -a-c-e-s. The correct answer was not given, although Morse knew it was not in the South China Sea or the Baltic. Sorry, but you do not spell 'pancreas' with -a-c-e-s. And if his publishing editor didn't know the answer, he could not correct the typo either.
Thank you, I've not read this one, it will be interesting to see if I can spot the guilty party, but I will have visions of Oxford in my head when I read it.
My TBR is massive, so it may be a while until I get the chance to read this.
