First in the series of Daisy Dalrymple mysteries, set in 1920s Britain. Daisy is a down on her luck aristocrat, trying to earn a living as a magazine writer following the death of her brother and fiancé in WW1 (meaning the family estate has gone to a cousin). She goes to Wentwater Court to write a feature, only for a guest to meet a nasty end in a pond. Scotland Yard are sent to investigate, but Daisy can't help getting involved.
I find these books addictive and have read 20 of them now. A fun, light read and I think they'd appeal if you enjoy Agatha Christie's Tommy and Tuppence novels.
This had been in my permanent collection so my husband could read it, but he's taking his time so it's going to another BCer instead!

Received this book today in good condition. Other BC'ers have mentioned they have enjoyed this series. This will be the first I've read of the series. Thank you so much blackwidow1971 for sharing it with me.
This book is flying out today from sunny (but cold) Ohio to sunny (and I assume warm) California. It's the first in the A Daisy Dalrymple Mystery Series of, I think, 22 books. I enjoyed this one and put most of the rest on my WL.
Thank you so much for this wishlist book. I look forward to reading it.
This was a relatively quick read because I enjoyed the plot and the characters. I will be looking for the next book in the series.
