From back of book:
Thirteen boys whose names Phoebe Fine remembers, from Roger Mancuso, who gave her her first cigarette; to Bruce Bledstone, the visiting professor, who visited her but was also visiting elsewhere; to Neil Schmertz, with whom she played house. And four boys dating from her short-lived experiment with promiscuity, whose names she has, understandably, forgotten, although she does remember some of the things they said.
Seventeen boys and Phoebe Fine; the sum of these stories adds up to What She Saw...a funny, sharp and occasionally devastating rendition of that most basic and crucial of human stories: growing up.
