This one is a bit of a departure for the author: most of the books I've read by him are set in Hawaii. This one starts off in Hawaii but ends up in Mississippi, where Eddy Okubo and the 100th Battalion are sent for a secret mission they could never have imagined.
Based on true events: I was stunned when I first read this book, and I can't even imagine what went through the minds of the soldiers.
