The Red Tent

It took me a little while to get into this book but once I did I was fascinated with the biblical times recreated on the pages. The characters were compelling and finely drawn and there was never a tired sense of retelling an old story, but rather a fresh new interpretation. I did hope for parts of it to be a bit longer....some things were minutely detailed in description while others were brushed over.
I also found myself very glad to be a woman in the twentyfirst century. Share my husband with five other women? NO thank you very much.
Soon to be a bookring.
