This book is heartbreaking as it documents the persecution, genocide, and enforced banishment to reservations of various tribes of Native Americans during the late 1800's. It makes me feel guilty for being an American, living in plenty because of the ousting of previous residents of the land.

This book arrived while I was out of town - thanks! It's a "well-loved" book I can see and it's joining the others on Mt TBR. I will probably pass this along to my husband as well when I'm finished, if he's interested, before releasing again.
