A little post-Christmas gift to myself, thanks in no small part to a 2fer offer at WHS :)
(04/12/15) And almost a year later, home from a short European break and finished!
This is a typical Gladwell, highbrow but readable, clever and insightful without being dry and academic.
With David & Goliath of the title, Gladwell introduces a number of scenarios where disadvantages prove to have unexpected advantages (and vice versa), strengths flourish in the face of adversity, and unexpected situations when you can have too much of a good thing!
Gladwell loves to tell a story and create ‘wow really!?’ moments from his secondary research, interviews and informal findings, although I’m guessing sometimes without the rigour of a more theoretical framework. That said, popular is good, and he is sharing really interesting insights about human behaviour so you’ll hear no complaints here!
